SWATH Mention Starts at 01:53 ReelzChannel Snow White and the Huntsman is not only action-packed, it's fashion-packed! Nine-time Academy Award-nominated costume designer Colleen Atwood, who managed the movie's innumerable looks, recently spilled all of the details on the film's fierce wardrobe to MSN Her and told us about the process involved in creating the looks.
How did you get into costume designing? "I studied art in school, and began costume in my late 20's when I moved to New York. I had worked in fashion and luckily met someone by chance that gave me a break when someone in their department didn't show up for work. I became the PA in art department and moved into little costuming jobs within a couple years." What processes do you go through to create such amazing costumes? "I dream a lot inside my head, use art, fabric and the scripts to get ideas going on." How has the industry changed over the years? "I think the media is so fast now, people see the same things, so there's bound to be inspiration being cross-pollinated." Who is your favourite designer? "I don't have one per se, there a so many amazing talents." How do you decide on a look for specific characters and actors, Kristen Stewart, for example? "The first concept comes from the script, which is the story we all work on together, that and the director's take of the story are the starting points." Which celebrity would you like to design for now? "I design for actors, and stories, not celebrities." If you could design for any film, in the history of film, what would it be? "How about one that hasn't been made? An original wonderful tale set in 15th century would be great." MSN SWATH Parts:
Is it any surprise that Stewart's next project is inspired by a Grimm's fairy tale? In this month's Snow White and the Huntsman, Stewart plays the titular character possessing "skin white as snow, lips red as blood, hair black as ebony..." but that's as much as she has in common with the class. That, and the fact that the evil queen wants to eat her heart out. Promising to go fetch it, the huntsman reneges, sides with Snow White, and turns her into a warrior princess. It's a feminist take sure to appeal to Stewart's built-in fan base. "She's not a damsel in distress relying on the handsome prince to save her," says director Rupert Sanders. "She's someone who bonds the men together to reclaim the kingdom. And Kristen is exactly what she personified: tough, independent, resilient." Chris Hemsworth, who plays the hunky huntsman, recalls a day in the midst of shooting a key moment when "halfway through it, Kristen said 'No, this is a disaster, this is sh*t, this is not working. Oh f*ck, we're missing something! We're missing something.' The lines we had weren't hitting it. Thankfully she voiced it. So Rupert let us improvise. And the whole scene took on a life of its own. It was like, Wow, she was onto something." Despite being terrified of horses, Stewart saddled up to lead an army of 250 mounted men charging down a beach in the rain. "I hated it," she admits of riding. "I didn't take to the whole mentality of f*cking ordering that thing around--'Go now!' You have to be an a**hole, basically. Not to say that horse people are a**holes to their horses. But you have to basically tell that thing who's boss, and I didn't want to do that. I was like, 'No, do your thing. I don't even want to be up here.'" [...] As opposed to being controlled. "That's what I like about Kristen," says Charlize Theron, her Snow White costar. "All that fame and all that spotlight stuff is not her life. Her privacy is not going to be up for grabs. But man, because of that she's going to be okay. She's one of the few who willl have a very long, steady, amazing career." Thank you so much to @SupermodelScans of FashionScansRemastered.net for the lovely scans! :) "Meanwhile, on the heels of Brad Pitt being named the new face of Chanel N°5, another Hollywood star is featured in a luxury campaign. Here’s the exclusive first look at Charlize Theron for Dior. In the new campaign, the actress spotlights the new white model in the Dior VIII collection of ceramic timepieces.

FabSugar Kristen left her rebel style behind and took on a more refined look on the cover of ‘ELLE UK’. Read on for the inside scoop on her glamorous makeover! Kristen Stewart looked stunning on the June cover of ELLE UK, and now her makeup artist Jillian Dempsey, Avon’s Global Creative Color Director, is sharing all the details so you can get the same look!"
Jillian revealed to ELLEUK.com exactly how you can recreate Kristen’s smooth skin, smoky eyes, and bold brows! She started with applying an ivory foundation to Kristen’s already porcelain skin. You can get the same smooth skin with Ideal Flawless Foundation in Ivory to smooth the skin, and then conceal where necessary with Ideal Flawless Concealer Stick. Next Jillian gave Kristen a dark, smoky eye. To achieve the same look, dot black liquid liner between your upper lashes to fill in tiny spaces to give the appearance of fuller lashes. Then apply Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner above upper lash line, and use a smudge tip to blend a softer line under lower lashes for a sultry look. Moving north, Jillian went with this season’s popular bold brow for Kristen. To get it, use Glimmerstick Brow Definer in Dark Brown for a structured brow that gives your eye definition. Then, use Supershock Eyeshadow Pencil in Moonshine and Starry Night, applying multiple layers of the rich, stone grey eyeshadow onto your eyelids. Jillian brought a pop of color to Kristen’s look on her lips with Shine Attract Lipstick in Rose Bouquet Rose and topped it off with a little Glazewear Shine Lip Gloss in Iced Pink. To complete Kristen’s “sophisticated” look, Jillian says she likes “to finish with highlighting and contouring.” Use a a light iridescent powder (in this case Illuminating Face Pearls) to accent your cupid’s bow (the top line of your lip) and cheekbones. Then, add True Colour Blush in Russet to define your cheeks.
