Video: New ET Interview w/Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, & Chris Hemsworth (SWATH Press)5/13/2012 In March, Charlize Theron revealed that she had adopted a baby boy named Jackson, and we congratulated her on her first Mother's Day while she shared her feelings on raising a child in the media spotlight.
"Obviously I understand [the media attention]," said Theron from outside the Arundel Castle in West Sussex, England. "I also feel like I want to do everything in the world to protect this very innocent little boy, who is going to have an awesome mom but she has a sucky job that everybody wants to know about." The Oscar winner clarified that she loves her fans and her job, but that the paparazzi has always made her uncomfortable. One of the perks of Theron's career is getting to play dress up, as she does inSnow White and The Huntsman. In the film, the Evil Queen (Theron) desires everlasting beauty and literally gets it by draining life from younger women. To achieve this goal, The Evil Queen targets Snow White, played by Twilight star Kristen Stewart. The role of The Huntsman is played by Thor star Chris Hemsworth. The movie grabbed Hemsworth's attention by sticking much closer to the darker source material, written by The Brothers Grimm, than the brightly colored world Walt Disney painted more than a half-century ago. "Initially, I didn't jump at it, but then I read the script and it was such a different take on it," said Hemsworth, who is also a new parent. He and wife Elsa Pataky welcomed a baby girl on Friday. "It is classically what you think Snow White is going to be but it lives in a really dangerous world," said Kristin Stewart. "I am through-and-through Snow White ... but we just test her. It's like, 'Let's see if Snow White can survive this.'" ET via @KstewAngel Youtube via @KStewDevotee ty! :) SWATH Parts:
Is it any surprise that Stewart's next project is inspired by a Grimm's fairy tale? In this month's Snow White and the Huntsman, Stewart plays the titular character possessing "skin white as snow, lips red as blood, hair black as ebony..." but that's as much as she has in common with the class. That, and the fact that the evil queen wants to eat her heart out. Promising to go fetch it, the huntsman reneges, sides with Snow White, and turns her into a warrior princess. It's a feminist take sure to appeal to Stewart's built-in fan base. "She's not a damsel in distress relying on the handsome prince to save her," says director Rupert Sanders. "She's someone who bonds the men together to reclaim the kingdom. And Kristen is exactly what she personified: tough, independent, resilient." Chris Hemsworth, who plays the hunky huntsman, recalls a day in the midst of shooting a key moment when "halfway through it, Kristen said 'No, this is a disaster, this is sh*t, this is not working. Oh f*ck, we're missing something! We're missing something.' The lines we had weren't hitting it. Thankfully she voiced it. So Rupert let us improvise. And the whole scene took on a life of its own. It was like, Wow, she was onto something." Despite being terrified of horses, Stewart saddled up to lead an army of 250 mounted men charging down a beach in the rain. "I hated it," she admits of riding. "I didn't take to the whole mentality of f*cking ordering that thing around--'Go now!' You have to be an a**hole, basically. Not to say that horse people are a**holes to their horses. But you have to basically tell that thing who's boss, and I didn't want to do that. I was like, 'No, do your thing. I don't even want to be up here.'" [...] As opposed to being controlled. "That's what I like about Kristen," says Charlize Theron, her Snow White costar. "All that fame and all that spotlight stuff is not her life. Her privacy is not going to be up for grabs. But man, because of that she's going to be okay. She's one of the few who willl have a very long, steady, amazing career." Thank you so much to @SupermodelScans of FashionScansRemastered.net for the lovely scans! :) Although her role in the famous Twilight vampire saga have positioned her as one of the most famous actresses of Hollywood, Kristen Stewart is now more interested in playing deeper characters.
And perhaps there is only one director who can help her accomplish this: Mexico's Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu. She not only declared herself a fan of his work, but also said she was very interested to work in on of his next movies. "I would love to work with González Iñárritu, and I want to do that soon." Kristen said yesterday in an interview in England during the press junket of the film 'Snow White and the Huntsman', which will premiere in Mexico on June 1. "I believe he makes very intense movies, full of emotion, with a very strong message, and the feeling that the characters reflect is also very intense and I want to experience something like that." [...] And so strong is the admiration that Kristen has for directors as González Iñárritu, that she also expressed her desire in being a director herself. "I want to make movies, it's one of my biggest wishes," she said. And even not having a specific project, she already has some ideas for short films. "You're working everyday with directors so talented in what they do, following their instructions and you're having so much contact with them, that you start to like that job very much," said the actress. Kristen has had the opportunity to work alongside filmmakers like Bill Condon, director of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, the latter yet to be released. The actress also began working in the first film of the franchise with director Catherine Hardwicke, who in 2003 directed the critically acclaimed film Thirteen. And although Kristen considered that she still has a long way to go, she is ready to take her time, without forcing anything. "My ambition is a bit rare, because I don't want to force anything, I want everything to happen naturally and I'm sure that with time I'll be able to work as a director," she said. In her next movie, Snow White and The Huntsman, Robert Pattinson's girlfriend will play the lead character of this new adaptation brought to the big screen by Rupert Sanders. In this epic adventure, full of action and special effects, she plays the young woman that, having an inocence and unmatched beauty, is chased by the evil queen, Ravenna, played by Charlize Theron. "What I like most in this character is that she has a very delicate nature, but she also has a lot of strenght, integrity and feeling," said Kristen. Source Translation thanks to Robsten Dreams |
