Hollywood’s A-list can’t seem to get enough of Stella McCartney’s funky spring collection.
At Thursday’s Swarovski Crystallized Unsigned Model Search Event in London, Helena Christensen (right) added intrigue to a patterned shift with striped, blue tights and a neon-green purse. Previous supporters of the unusual frocks include Charlize Theron, who selected a one-shouldered mini for the L.A. premiere of Young Adult, Gwyneth Paltrow, who celebrated Coach’s 70th anniversary in a one-sleeved version and Nicole Kidman, who sported a burgundy column at the Country Music Awards. “It’s a celebration of energy, freshness, and fitness,” McCartney told Style.com of the hard-to-pull-off collection. Vote for Charlize here: People Kristen Stewart teamed up with her Snow White and the Huntsman costars Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron for a photo shoot in LA today. Kristen arrived in a casual hoodie and later changed into a plaid shirt to pose with her leading man, Chris. The trio wrapped the film just before the holidays and since then they've all kept busy with new projects and well-deserved vacations.
Earlier this month it was announced that Kristen will be the new face of Balenciaga perfumewhile Charlize scored the February cover of W magazine. Meanwhile, Chris and his wife Elsa Patakay announced they're expecting their first child later this year and also vacationed off the coast of St. Barts with Matt Damon. Chris and Matt let loose during their stay in the Caribbean, and even partied with George Clooney's ex Lisa Snowdon. Snow White and the Huntsman hits theaters June 1 and we can look forward to seeing a lot more of Chris, Kristen, and Charlize in the upcoming months. Over the weekend, Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, celebrated pal Lisa Snowdon's 40th birthdayin London, and now we've got exciting images from inside the bash. Matt and Luciana sipped drinks, danced, and chatted with friends Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky, who recently joined them for a sunny vacation. The foursome met up with a group on a mega yacht off the coast of St. Barts earlier this month, and they were spotted riding down a massive slide, swimming, and making a splash in the water. Elsa and Chris are expecting their first child together, and Elsa's baby bump was on display in tiny bikinis throughout the trip.

For almost a decade the MCM London Comic Con has been a haven for comics, movies, games and anime – and now, together with the Eagle Awards and upcoming Universal Pictures blockbuster Snow White And The Huntsman, we’re looking to the next decade with a prestigious competition for new comic artists and writers.
Judged by Titan Publishing senior editor Steve White, bestselling writer Tony Lee and Eisner-winning artist Mark Buckingham, the ‘Huntsman's Challenge’ competition calls on comic creators to come up with a fully finished, coloured and lettered five page story with a plot relevant to a dark fantasy setting. [...] Submissions will be accepted from 1-29 February and our judges will select two winners: one for best design and art, the other for best writing quality. Both creative teams will be nominated for a new Eagle Award, the MCM Expo Award For New Visionaries and have their story included in May’s MCM London Comic Con show programme, printed in conjunction with Snow White And The Huntsman from Universal Pictures, who will also provide a selection of prizes. Both winners will also receive invites to the 2012 Eagle Awards ceremony and after-party on the Friday of the MCM London Comic Con, along with industry passes to the full London Comic Con weekend and signing slots in the show’s Comic Village. [...] All accepted entries will receive audience invitations to the May 2012 Eagle Awards. Internet whispers suggest it’s the science of terraforming (i.e. the modification of a planet to replicate earth) that’s fire equivalent here, under the watch of Theron’s Meredith Vickers, the representative of our old friends Weyland-Yutani. “That’s one of the familar things from the Alien movies – there are corporate interests at play”, says writer Damon Lindelof who goes on to insist that Theron won’t be as “slimy” as Paul Reiser’s treacherous Burke in Aliens. “She’s not the fast-talking, snake-oil face of the company,” the Lost man continues. “As we were developing the script, she had some really cool ideas that made it not the suit you’re used to.”

Mr. Wells, of Brookline, Massachusetts’s Park School, has a policy of teaching his students lessons in civic action and social responsibility, messages dear to the bushy-browed Lorax.
But when “a class of 14 caring kids who want to help the planet” viewed early trailers for Lorax the movie, the students were disappointed. Where, they asked, was the Lorax’s message of saving trees and wildlife? The kids felt that something needed to be done. Mr. Wells agreed, and a petition campaign was born. The class logged onto Change.org and collected 57,239 signatures on a letter headed “Universal Pictures: Let the Lorax Speak for the Trees.” Universal responded to the kids’ concerns. The official Lorax movie website was updated on January 26 to prompt visitors to Go Green! A homepage link opens to the Lorax Project, a joint endeavor by Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Conservation International and Random House to “engage individuals of all ages to do their part to conserve the places and species that are critical to the future of our planet.” “By setting up these projects,” said teacher Wells, “I’m acting out hope.” Universal’s Kori Bernards agrees. She tells TakePart, “We’re incredibly impressed with what Mr. Wells has done with his students to raise attention to an important issue and also to teach them about the power of civic action.” Read More at Take Part Official "The Lorax" Movie Website The Lorax Project |
