6. Chris Hemsworth — The Australian actor first came to my attention when he played the doomed Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” in 2009. Hemsworth’s breakout role came earlier this year, where he starred as the title character in “Thor.” Looks like superhero films had a big role for a lot of our breakout stars in 2011! The actor added a refreshing boost to the God of Thunder, bringing strength and comedy to the role. Hemsworth will star as the Huntsman in “Snow White and the Huntman” in 2012.

So we’re in luck this year, because the BBC’s festive offerings are like old friends, albeit decked out in fashionable new garments. The jewel in the crown of the Corporation’s continuing celebrations of Charles Dickens’s upcoming bicentenary year is a mini-series of Great Expectations. Last night, on BBC One, we saw the first episode, with two more to follow tonight and Thursday.
Dickens’s Bildungsroman about an upwardly mobile young man blinkered by snobbery is not exactly an adventurous choice of source material; there has been at least one adaptation every 10 years or so since television began, the last being a 1999 production featuring Charlotte Rampling as Miss Havisham, following hot on the heels of Alfonso Cuarón’s updated movie version. In the film, Theron plays a woman named Meredith Vickers, and she's not to be trusted! According to the actress, her character is nobody's hero.
Theron recently spoke to Total Film about her role in Prometheus and revealed she's not one of the good guys. When asked if she'll be the movie's answer to Ellen Ripley she replied, "No, I actually don't play the heroine in it; that's Noomi Rapace. I play somewhat of a villain in it." “I always think Charlize looks amazing,” Aisha Tyler told us. Read more here: The Fab Life Charlize Theron is attracted to "happy people".
The stunning blonde actress has revealed that she believes beauty is more than skin deep. Charlize thinks that a person's demeanour can determine whether they are ugly or good-looking. "I am more attracted to happy people than beautiful," she told Italian magazine Gioia. "When a person lives a very happy life they become beautiful." Another sign that Hollywood is looking to cash in on the "Twilight"/ "Harry Potter" audience, there are not one but two movies based on Snow White coming out in 2012. "Snow White and the Huntsman," starring Kirsten Stewart, is more Joan d'Arc than Disney; she spends much of the movie in plate mail and, judging from the trailer, looks pretty handy with a sword. Charlize Theron also stars as the evil Queen.
