Wincanton has been providing truckloads of water for the cast and crew of a new Hollywood film, Snow White and the Huntsman, during filming at Marloes Sands near Milford Haven.
The film is described as a dark take on the traditional folk-tale and stars Twilight actress Kristen Stewart and oscar-winner Charlize Theron. “For the last few years we have built a reputation as the leading water provider to outdoor events,” said Claire Charlton, business development manager at Wincanton. The area, which was also prominently used in the 2006 movie Miss Potter, is a favorite spot for those looking getting away and is known for its extensive walking trails. The movie is putting a twist on the Snow White we’re all familiar with, in this version she’ll be trained as a warrior by her mentor, the huntsman who was supposed to kill her. Other big names starring in the film include Charlize Theron, playing The Evil Queen, plus Ray Winstone and Lily Cole. Kristen Stewart is said to be playing a hardened-up version of the fairytale princess. The film is putting a modern twist on the classic tale whereby Snow White is trained as a warrior by her hero and mentor, the huntsman who was supposed to kill her. Cathedral Quarry and Blea Tarn are amongst the landmarks featured in the film, which is due to hit cinemas in summer next year.
