Since then he has worked on Gangs of New York, starring Daniel Day Lewis and Leonardo di Caprio, as well as adapting Michael Faber's best selling novel The Crimson Petal and the White.
In 2009 he was commissioned by Paramount Pictures to write a film based on Tom Clancy's fictional character, Jack Ryan, and in 2011 Universal commissioned Hossein to write 47 Ronin and Snow White and the Huntsman.
2011 also sees the release of Drive starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan, which was nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival and will screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
