November 1, 2011—Universal Pictures and Angle Films today announced a first-look distribution deal between the two companies. The newly formed Angle Films is jointly owned and operated by Paul Brooks’ Gold Circle Films and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions. Its mandate is to finance and produce genre films with budgets ranging from $15 to $30 million. The distribution pact was announced today by Brooks, Blum and Universal Chairman Adam Fogelson and Co-Chairman Donna Langley.
