Overseas, Universal’s $170m-budget production was the no. 2 movie, trailing only Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Snow White and the Huntsman was the top movie in France, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, raking in $22.6m at 6,780 locations in 60 markets.
Snow White and the Huntsman‘s international cume stands at $160.4m, now ahead of Prometheus‘ (3D-assisted) $152.9m. However, another 3D-assisted movie, Will Smith / Tommy Lee Jones / Josh Brolin’s Men in Black III will remain ahead of SWATH. MIB3‘s international cume is a remarkably strong $414m from 75 territories, including the all-important Chinese market. (MIB3‘s box-office gross in the US/Canada: $163.33m.)
