In fact, the Oscar-winning actress, 36, simply feels lucky she doesn’t have to moonlight.
“I’m so horrible at doing these things,” Charlize says Monday, clutching her presenter and Young Adult co-star Patton Oswalt, when she was honored at the IFP Gotham Independent Films Awards sponsored by euphoria Calvin Klein.
“I find myself so overwhelmed being in a room with people like you,” she tells a crowd that includes Peter Facinelli, Alec Baldwin, Tilda Swinton,Elizabeth Olsen and Vera Farmiga. “I can’t believe that that is how my life turned out. I was asked ‘are you living your dream?’, but I really am, because all I ever wanted was to be able to do this and not have a second job to pay the rent. I got that, and so much more.”
